Bumming around Holland’s Hoge veLuwe National Park on Bikes – November 2013
I and several of my colleague from work went to a meeting in Holland and decided to spend our one free day visiting the Hoge Veluwe National Park, about and hour drives east of Amsterdam.
This park is small enough to cover in one day (40 Km of bike trails) but have so many things to see that it will occupy a full day.
In keeping with the Dutch’s cycling culture, the park provides hundreds of free White Bikes that you can simply pick-up and drop-off anywhere in the park.
The park itself was rather unique as it seemed to have so many terrain and climate types within such a small area. We started biking in tree-cover wet forest and just few kilometers, we were in a dry open fields.
Then later on, we were riding in a desert like sand dune areas.
Within the park there were also many landmarks that one can visit and also grab food and drinks.
If you have a day free in Holland, you should really visit this unique national park.
